Due the inability of many Americans to take a vacation this year the media has promoted "staycations". This is the concept of enjoying your own neighborhood instead of traveling out of economic necessity. Soaring gas prices, the plummeting economy and the collapsing housing market spur John Hodgman of The Daily Show to make this comment:
"Think of it this way, Paris will always be there John, but based on the rate of your sub-prime mortgage, your home might not be."
devastating in truth, but brilliant in insight.
